However, Christopher K. Travis also collaborates with his oldest son, Shiloh Travis, a registered green builder in the Austin, Texas area, to form a Design/Build team that serves the Austin environs. The two men have worked with each other for over a decade to produce beautiful homes using an efficient and deeply personal design build process.

We believe the design/build process is a superior alternative to a competitive bid process.  The contractor is involved earlier during the design process and provides the team with an additional set of skills and knowledge - specifically budget management and a better understanding of materials and methods - that can be applied throughout the development of the design.With today's ever-changing construction market, this is invaluable information when controlling project budgets through value engineering

If a client prefers to utilize a traditional competitive bid process, Sentient Architecture also provides upgraded design and drawing/documentation services, which guide the client through bidding,contract negotiation and construction administration stages. This delivery approach requires higher levels of detailed drawings and specification documentation so that contractor bids can be accurately and fairly evaluated.
